Guided tours behind the scenes

Members of staff at Wilhelma show you what you would not normally see during a visit to Wilhelma: as a rule you are taken into areas behind the scenes, but also into the usual visitor areas.

Zoologists, botanists, veterinary surgeons, animal keepers or gardeners lead you in front of and behind the scenes of Wilhelma. Our staff show the business premises and explain how the things work that are necessary for the successful running of modern zoological and botanical gardens. We offer guided tours behind the scenes on various subject areas. Apart from the usual guided tour behind the scenes, there is the possibility of booking the thematic areas Aquarium, Terrarium, Amazon House, Insectariumand Botany. These guided tours also take you behind the scenes.

Due to the great demand, we advise you to book these tours as early as possible. The guided tour is not considered to have been reserved until you receive written confirmation from Wilhelma. You will receive this confirmation as soon as we can offer you a fixed date. We are sorry not to be able to answer enquiries as to whether bookings have reached us.
