Wilhelma offers guided tours IN FRONT OF and BEHIND the scenes, some free of charge, some at a fee.

Guided tours for pupils and students can be found under Wilhelma School.

IN FRONT OF the scenes:

During these guided tours, Wilhelma escorts and members of Wilhelma staff show you round those parts of Wilhelma that are open to all visitors. 

1.Guided tours with Wilhelma companions

Trained personnel of the Society of Friends and Supporters of Wilhelma e.V., the so-called Wilhelma Escorts, impart interesting and informative facts about flora and fauna and the history of Wilhelma.

Duration: approx. 90 minutes
Dates: 1st April – 31st October: Saturdays 2 p.m., Sundays and Bank Holidays 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Fee: only the valid entrance fee
Meeting point: Main Entrance
Applications: not necessary


2. Botanical and zoological guided tours with members of staff at Wilhelma

Animal keepers and gardeners at Wilhelma offer you guided tours through Wilhelma on selected Saturdays throughout the year. There are zoological and also botanical themes, for example "Bonsai trees in miniature size" or "The Giraffe House".

Duration: approx. 90 minutes
Dates: selected Saturdays throughout the year, but botanical tours not in August or December
Fees: only the valid entrance feeNumber of participants: max. 15 – 20 persons
Age: depending on the theme of the zoological tours, a minimum age of 6 or 10 years is occasionally required

The latest dates and themes are published in the Wilhelma Magazine, appearing quarterly, posted up at the entrance to Wilhelma or given on the Wilhelma site in the Internet. Keep an eye open, too, for announcements in the daily papers.
